Rachael Sage

Hello beautiful friends, and Happiest New Year to you all!

We hope you had a peaceful, joyous (or at least an uncontroversial) holiday season, and are as eager and excited as we are for the clean slate of a brand spankin' new year!!

2018 definitely had its ups and downs, but through it all we were so incredibly grateful for the precious sense of community that you showed in continuing to support Rachael Sage’s colorful, creative endeavors. Thank you for letting us know directly how her music and art impact you. What would a first newsletter of the year be without a "2018 Top Ten"? And of course we have new music (woohoo!!), along with a smattering of new shows in the works for you. Enjoy, and see you out there at a gig!

xo & light,
Team MPress (& Rachael)

1. NEW MUSIC ON THE WAY! ACOUSTIC ALBUM "PSEUDOMYOPIA" DUE MARCH 22

PseudoMyopia Album CoverYes, you read that right... new recordings are on their way! On March 22nd, MPress Records will be releasing an intimate and elegantly stripped-down companion album to Rachael's "Myopia", entitled "PseudoMyopia". The collection contains 11 totally acoustic and creatively re-imagined arrangements of songs like "Spark", "Alive", "Myopia" and "Olivia", featuring musical contributions by some of her very favorite players, including guitarist Ben Butler (Sting, Jonatha Brooke); upright bassist Richard Hammond (Joan Osborne); longtime collaborator, cellist Ward Williams (Sara Bareilles) and fellow label-mate and Grammy® Nominee Seth Glier. The album – lovingly designed by Rachael herself – will be available physically at live shows ahead of the official release date. So get your tuchus down to an upcoming show for your personally signed copy, woohoo!

2. RACHAEL CRACKS THE TOP 40 CHARTS AGAIN WITH "ALIVE"

Airplay Today Chart

In the last days of 2018, we were so happy to discover that Rachael's single "Alive" cracked the U.S. Top 40 Airplay Today Chart, alongside such artists as Camila Cabello, Imagine Dragons, and Miley Cyrus. Surreal & encouraging... and especially sweet, since earlier in the year her track "Spark" also broke the Top 10, receiving incredible support from AC (Adult Contemporary) stations around the country. Thanks to all the DJs who continue to support Rachael's music, and tons of gratitude to prodigiously talented dancer Elliana Walmsley, whose mind-blowingly beautiful performance in the "Alive" video has enabled the song to reach a wider audience!

3. TIX ON SALE FOR FULL-BAND NYC RELEASE SHOW @ JOE'S PUB!

Joe's PubWe're super excited to announce that Rachael will be returning to her favorite NYC listening room for a special "PseudoMyopia" release party and performance with her full-band The Sequins (Andy Mac, Kelly Halloran, and Ward Williams). It's particularly meaningful for Rachael to be returning to Joe's Pub this year, as they are currently celebrating their 20th anniversary... and guess who was the first singer-songwriter to ever perform on their stage? That's right, your own favorite glittery songstress. Rachael was invited to perform there just after the space opened, while she was also attending The Shakespeare Lab at The Public Theater (where she played Desdemona in Othello). Ahh, the memories! Tix are on sale now!!

4. RACHAEL HEADING BACK TO SXSW

SXSWIt may only be January, but we're already looking forward to our annual pilgrimage to music's most dynamic multimedia festival, SXSW in Austin, TX! Rachael will be there with bells on, promoting her forthcoming release "PseudoMyopia". Her schedule is quickly filling up, but she's always on the lookout for more showcase opportunities so please contact us if you'd like to help! SXSW Music takes place from March 11 to 17... but the warmer weather can't come soon enough for us NYC-folk!
