Rachael Sage

Shalom, water-bubulahs, & happy summer...

We know it's been eons since you've heard from us on all sparkly Sage-related matters, but that's because since returning from two months of solid touring on several continents, Rachael's been hard at work on her (yep) 10th album. You can read more specifics about Rachael's forthcoming release below, and in the meantime, if you're brand new to our list, *welcome*! To all of you longtime supporters, thanks for continuing to inspire Rachael by coming out to shows, spreading the word about her records, sharing your own stories, and generally being the best listeners out there!!!

xoxo & lightning bugs,

Rachael & Team MPress

1. SPRING TOUR RECAP: ADVENTURES IN THE UK, FRANCE, ISRAEL, GERMANY, NETHERLANDS

Tour PhotoPHOTO GALLERY: This Spring Rachael spent five weeks overseas, in support of the release of the "Deluxe Edition" of her latest album "Delancey Street". Tour manager extraordinaire Meredith took some fun photos along the way, which you can view in the gallery of Rachael's Facebook Fan Page (you'll have to click "Like" first, if you haven't already).

TOUR VLOGS: Also, R.D., our MPress New Media guru, helped edit some fun Flipcam-footage taken along the tour, which highlights some of the more absurd behind-the-scenes moments, along with a handful of live performance clips. You can view the two International Tour vlogs here: Part 1 AND Part 2. Thanks to Meredith and R.D. for helping capture the madness!

2. THE LATEST SHPIEL AT PRESS & RADIO...AND RACHAEL WINS AN OUTMUSIC AWARD!

PRESS: Rachael's recent international exploits garnered quite a bit of press coverage. Here's a smattering of what came in — peruse and enjoy!

RADIO: While gallavanting throughout Europe, Rachael was fortunate to have the support of a number of regional BBC and other stations who generously interviewed her on the air, along with playing her latest release. Some of these included BBC Radio Suffolk, BBC Radio Norfolk, Big City Radio, BBC Radio Manchester, and an "Entertainment Focus" feature which was syndicated nationally throughout the UK. Most of the stations didn't archive the sessions, but here are a few for your listening pleasure:

BBC Radio

OUTMUSIC AWARD: On May 23rd, Rachael received the OUTMusic Award for Best Producer, for her song "Hope's Outpost", off her current album "Delancey Street"! The awards were held at NYC's legendary Irving Plaza, and she was invited to perform but unfortunately could not clone herself to be on two continents at once. :( Mazel Tov to all of the other winners, especially our talented friend Avi Wisnia, whose song "New Year" appears on our latest charity compilation, "New Arrivals: Vol. 4"!

4. RACHAEL HARD AT WORK ON HER UPCOMING TENTH ALBUM, "HAUNTED BY YOU"

Rachael In The StudioOver the last couple weeks Rachael has been delving deeper into her new songs, layering instruments and singing vocals on the dozen tracks that will comprise her tenth album, tentatively titled "Haunted By You". Featuring several songs that Rachael penned on acoustic guitar – her newest endeavor – the album is once again self-produced by Sage and recorded by John Shyloski (who also mixed MPress artist Seth Glier's new album, "The Next Right Thing").

Confirmed special guests include the lovely & talented vocalist Katie Costello, NYC's rising subway étoile & violinist Kelly O'Halloran, and reknowned guitarists Mark Bosch & James Mastro...along with ongoing musical collaborators Quinn (drums), Dave Eggar (cello) & Mike Visceglia (bass). Stay tuned for more news & Flipcam footage from Rachael's studio sessions!

5. SUMMER EXCITEMENT FROM RACHAEL'S MPRESS-MATES SETH GLIER & MELISSA FERRICK!

Melissa FerricK: Still Right HereRachael's friends & MPress label-mates have been making her so proud lately, she just couldn't help but want to share some of their great news! Firstly, Seth Glier's brand-new video for "Walk Katie Home", directed by the uber-talented Tom Moore was premiered in USA TODAY. Also, Seth recently shared the stage – twice! – with the incomparable and always inspiring Ani DiFranco. As Rachael kvelled after the Tarrytown, NY show, "I was so inspired by how amazingly 'on' Seth was, opening for Ani...he was shamelessly emotional, but he used each of his twenty-five minutes as a chance to pour his heart into his music, and the audience loved him for it!" Congrats, Seth — onward & upward!

Secondly, our most recently-signed artist, Melissa Ferrick, has completed her new album "Still Right Here", to be released on September 13, and it's available for pre-order now! Co-produced by Melissa, Thomas Eaton and Alex Wong, Melissa has described it herself as her "very best album yet" and we certainly agree (not that we're biased...). If you've never heard Melissa's work (*gasp*), check out a free download of her title track. Woohoo!!
