Salutations, shana punims –
Welcome to the latest edition of The Sage Page! We've been out of touch for a bit, but it's only because lots of exciting things have been brewing, and we wanted to make sure we had perfect weather before showering you with nachus. See below for a slew of new Rachael-musings, and thanks, as always, for supporting indie music.
xoxoxo,
Team MPress

1. CALLING ALL INDIE ARTISTS: NEW ARRIVALS VOL. 4 SUBMISSIONS EXTENDED!
Plans are well underway for the next volume of MPress Records' charity series, which will benefit National Network for Youth. “New Arrivals: Vol. 4” - or NAV4, as we like to call it - is a terrific opportunity for emerging artists, in addition to benefiting a great cause…so if you’re an indie artist, we’re ready to hear what you’ve got! The deadline for submissions has been extended until June 15th (learn more by visiting the official NAV4 submission link).

2. RACHAEL TO CONDUCT WORKSHOP AT TRUEVOICE IN NYC
On Thursday, July 9 at 7:30 pm Rachael will conduct a workshop on life as a professional touring musician for vocal students at TrueVoice Studio in New York City. The workshop is open to the public, but space is limited to just 15 people. If you are interested, please visit their web site for all the details!

3. CELLO VIRTUOSO DAVE EGGAR INVITES RACHAEL TO PARTICIPATE IN NEW PROJECT
Dave Eggar, Rachael's amazing cellist whose credits include performing with Coldplay, Evanescence and The Who, is working on a genre-crossing, boundary-breaking new album, and he's invited Rachael to co-produce/co-write a track for it. Stay tuned for more details as the project develops!

4. "BELOVED" WINS 3RD PRIZE IN UNISONG CONTEST
Woohoo, Rachael's instrumental composition, "Beloved", has been named a Third Prize Winner in the Unisong International Songwriting Contest. Featuring cherubic ambient vocals by Noe Venable and stellar musical performances by Rob Curto (accordion), Dave Eggar (cello), Russ Johnson (trumpet) and Todd Sickafoose (upright bass), the song appears on her latest record, "Chandelier".

5. RACHAEL TO PREVIEW "SEQUINS & SHPIEL" ONE NIGHT ONLY AT DROM, 7/30 (NYC)
As some of you may already know, Rachael will be making her debut at Scotland's renowned Fringe Festival this August. In preparation for her full-week run in Edinburgh, she'll be previewing the show in the U.S. for one night only at one of NYC's most beautiful venues, DROM. It's bound to sell out, so get your tickets early! Here's the official blurbage for the show:
"New York art-pop songstress and former dancer Rachael Sage brings "Sequins & Shpiel" to DROM on the heels of her most successful studio release yet, 2008's "Chandelier". Expect a healthy mix of vaudevillian shtick, playful Yiddishkeit and of course, Sage's signature pianistic flair."

6. A HANDFUL OF NEW SPRING/SUMMER SHOWS JUST ANNOUNCED!
Rachael will be spending quite a bit less time on the road this summer, as she sews up loose ends on her forthcoming album, oversees production on "New Arrivals: Vol. 4" and keeps herself busy with a few other soon-to-be-announced projects. However, she'll still be playing a few shows, so — at least some of you — don't despair! See below...
