3. "DELANCEY STREET" GETS A SECOND WIND WITH A DELUXE EUROPEAN EDITION!

Delancey Street DeluxeOn May 30, a Deluxe version of Rachael's most recent album will be released throughout Continental Europe. Along with brand new packaging, it will include two additional tracks produced by the legendary Phil Ramone (Billy Joel, Paul Simon). Introduced by mutual friend and Irish #1 charting recording artist Hermione Hennessy, Sage and Mr. Ramone met initially over a casual dinner where they discussed everything from music education to Fanny Brice, sparking plans to collaborate a mere few weeks later. Rachael says, "Obviously it's an enormous honor just to meet someone who's helped create so many incredible records...so actually working together was certainly a dream come true!"

Recorded quietly during the New Year's holiday "while the rest of the world was getting drunk", jokes Sage, the new tracks feature some of NYC's finest players including guitarist Ben Butler, bassist Conrad Korsch and "Saturday Night Live" drummer Shawn Pelton, who appeared over a decade ago on Rachael's album "Morbid Romantic". Stay tuned to Rachael's web site for more details about the European launch!

4. THE INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS NOMINATES RACHAEL — TWICE!

IMA NomineeThe Independent Music Awards recently announced its list of 2011 nominees, and Rachael was nominated in two categories: "Best Story Song" and "Best Artist Photo". The song they selected is "Brave Mistake", from her current album, and the photo was taken by Sage's longtime friend and amazing photographer John Mazlish.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
While the primary voting is done by a panel of industry judges, there is also a "Vox Populi" category where you can help impact the results, by voting in the "Story Song" and "Artist Photo" categories! (Also, congrats to Seth Glier, whose "Naia" was also nominated for "Best Love Song".)

5. RACHEL "RD" DERRICO JOINS THE MPRESS STAFF!

Drumroll please! It is with great glittery excitement that we welcome our amazing new Sage Street Team and Social Media Guru Rachel "RD" Derrico as the newest member of our MPress Staff. "RD" will also be helping create new vlogs chronicling Rachael's ongoing touring adventures, the first installment of which you can view on YouTube now!

Yes...it's apt to be a little confusing now and then with two Rachel/Rachael's onboard; but with the help of some shorthand and the fortunate variation in the spelling of their first names, "RD" & "RS" are revved up and ready to rejuvenate the Sage Street Team, established to help spread the word about everything Rachael Sage-related. Intrigued? Read more & sign up!
