1. RACHAEL'S LATEST RELEASE NOW AVAILABLE IN THE UK & IRELAND! Woohoo, Rachael's new album "Delancey Street" is now available in UK & Irish stores & via most European retail sites as well, courtesy of our shwanky new distributor, ADA Global. In addition to iTunes, you fabulous folks across the pond should be able to find it at retailers like Amazon.co.uk, HMV.com, and Play.com. (For a more complete list of UK/Irish stores where the album can be purchased, visit Rachael's official store*). *Remember, if you're at a music store and they don't have it in stock, please request that they order it! That helps show that there's demand for Rachael's music, and ensures that her music finds its way into retailers' ever-more precious shelf/rack-space.
2. "STOP ME IF I'M KVETCHING" GARNERS RAVE REVIEWS AT EDINBURGH FRINGE! Last month, Rachael Sage & The Sequins performed sixteen consecutive shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, widely acknowledged to be the biggest arts festival in the world. Each evening, Quinn (drums/juggling), Stephen Katz (cello/drag), Seth Glier (glockenspiel/accordion) and Rachael (piano/vocals/kibitzing) convened for an eclectic hour of semi-improvised art-pop, Yiddishkeit, and poetic mishugas. 3. RACHAEL'S NEW ALBUM "DELANCEY STREET" EMBRACED BY UK & IRISH PRESS
4. "BIG STAR" VIDEO NEWS: FOOT LOCKER, PULSE TV, FYE, DMX & MORE... Rachael's new video for "Big Star" has been added to the In Store Sports Networks Foot Locker video reel! Starting in October, the video will be in rotation in 1500 Foot Locker locations throughout the U.S. In addition, it's been added into rotation at Pulse TV, FYE, DMX & more! About the video: Inspired by the recent success of Lady Gaga's favorite glam-punk frontman, Semi Precious Weapons singer Justin Tranter, Rachael's "Big Star" video was directed by award-winning filmmaker Tom Moore and shot in various locations all over NYC including The Bowery, The Lower East Side, Soho, Times Square and Williamsburg. As some of you know, "New Arrivals" is MPress Records' Charity Compilation Series; our forthcoming installment, Volume 4, will benefit National Network For Youth (a homeless teen advocacy organization). After receiving and listening to hundreds of submissions by independent artists from all over the world, Rachael & the MPress staff have whittled the final track selection, which will be officially announced at our annual MPressFest CMJ in NYC! This year's MPressFest CMJ will take place at The Gallery Bar on Oct. 21st, and will feature performances by Rachael Sage & The Sequins, MPress Records' very own Seth Glier, Walter Parks, Lindsay Mac, Michelle Citrin and Melissa Ferrick! DAVE EGGAR & RACHAEL SAGE COLLABORATE ON "POETICA", SEPT. 22 IN NYC Later this month, Rachael will join her longtime collaborator and friend Dave Eggar at the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe for an inspired evening of songs, poetry and improvisation, in honor of the Howl! Festival. Celebrating his newest release "Kingston Morning", Dave Eggar and his band Deoro will take the stage at 7:00 PM. The New York Times raves: "Eggar's work is breathtaking...a deliverance from the sedate formality of the typical cello recital." Rachael Sage will perform a second set in collaboration with Eggar and his band, featuring material from her critically acclaimed current release "Delancey Street", as well as selections from her first poetry book "Karma's Trapeze" and her forthcoming volume of poems, "Since You Asked". BITTERSWEET 'BYE TO OUR OUR NEW MEDIA/STREET TEAM DIVA, JILL SHARPE If you're feeling varklempt and don't know why...it may be because one of our very favorite friends, creative people and all-around fabulous MPress team-mates has decided to move on. With a tear in our collective chamsa, we are sad to announce that Jill Sharpe has decided to leave MPress to pursue a life-long dream to work with horses at none other than The Big Apple Circus! We will miss her profoundly, and of course, we'll be following her new endeavors at one of Manhattan's most beloved cultural institutions. For those of you who may not be familiar with Jill's work at MPress, please go check out the many tour vlogs she edited for Rachael on her YouTube page, or the shpiel for Rachael's Street Team, which she's lovingly been overseeing for several years.
